Our automation team has made it their mission to stay abreast of new technologies and techniques, making us uniquely qualified to deliver cost-effective and efficient solutions. And in the residential realm no project, whether electrical or construction, is too small because we can do it all.

Approach

  • Not from the "time and material" school of project assessment.
  • Spend the time necessary to gain a complete understanding of your situation, objectives and long-term goals.
  • Strive to partner with reliable subcontractors that are team players in the best interest of our clients.
  • In-depth understanding of your objectives guides Nelson as we assemble the right products, people and follow-up to ensure success, often times leading to long-term clients.
  • In the case of commercial and industrial projects we are here not only to get your business up and running, but to keep it operating at peak efficiency.
  • In the case of residential projects we are here to get your project completed with efficiency and quality that will last.
  • Armed with this information, Nelson will create a roadmap, timeline and budget to achieve these goals.

Discipline

  • ‘Service is our specialty’ and ‘Always On’ are more than slogans to Nelson – they drive our disciplined approach to your project.
  • Always On means that Nelson meets obligations. Every time. Nelson will be there when we promise, will respect the budget and will meet the deadline. That is Nelson's commitment to you, because service is our specialty.
  • It means paying attention to the smallest details without losing sight of the larger objectives
  • Nelson invests in their people and they plan for the long-term. It is what enables a company to last 50 years and still provide relevant and timely services.

Codes

In addition Nelson keeps up-to-date on codes such as the following that affect electricians in relation to solar installations:

State Electrical Code and Electrician Licensing

2007 Wisconsin Act 63, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jim Doyle on March 5, 2008, requires the Department of Commerce to establish a state electrical wiring code, generally requires electricians to be licensed and registered, and provides for electrical construction inspections of all buildings, including private homes.

Nelson has long believed that giving back to the community is important. It not only helps out those in need but it also helps keep our company and our employees grounded in what it really means to be part of a community. Nelson not only donates money, but also gives with expertise.

Over the past five years Nelson has worked on 15 Habitat for Humanity homes and one Tree House project.

Nelson has also made monetary contributions to Down Syndrome, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Caring and Sharing Hands, VFW post 246, local food shelves and Longfellow Healthy Seniors on an annual basis.
